Francisco Javier Patiño Rodrigo was born in 1997 in Alcazar de San Juan (Spain). He obtained his Chemistry Degree in July 2019, at the University of Castilla -La Mancha (UCLM).

In the last year of his degree, he started to work in this research group, on the field of Nanochemistry, with the project “Hydrogels for white-light emission” under the supervision of Prof. Enrique Diez Barra and Prof. Sonia Merino Guijarro. Also, the same year, he successfully defended his final degree project titled “Hydrogels as biosensors” supervised by Prof. María Antonia Herrero Chamorro.

The following year, he obtained his Master´s degree in Chemistry Research, with a project titled “Self-Healing properties on hydrogels”, in MSOC Nanochemistry group, under the supervisión of Prof. Maria Antonia Herrero Chamorro.

In 2020, he obtained a fellowship from UCLM to carry out his PhD titled “Preparation of new materials with application on soft robotics”, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Antonia Herrero Chamorro and Prof. Ester Vázquez Fernández-Pacheco.
