Alicia Jiménez de la Torre was born in 1998 in Ciudad Real (Spain). She obtained her Chemistry Degree with the best academic record in June 2020, at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).

In June 2019, she started to work with the MSOC Nanochemistry research group in the department of organic, inorganic and biochemistry chemistry at the UCLM. Furthermore, in the last academic year of her degree, she received a Ministry of Education fellowship to carry out the project “Hydrogels based biosensors with application in diabetes drug screening” under the supervision of Prof. María Antonia Herrero Chamorro.

In June 2020, she successfully defended her final degree project titled “Hydrogels for cancer purposes”, also supervised by Prof. María Antonia Herrero Chamorro.

In July 2020, she received a Regional Institute for Applied Scientific Research fellowship to overhaul and optimize the hydrogels based biosensors for antidiabetic purposes.

In September 2020, she began a Master’s degree in Chemistry Research performing the project “Design of customized flexible electrodes in hydrogels/organogels”, in collaboration with the GMM research group in the department of physics at the UCLM, supervised by Prof. María Antonia Herrero Chamorro and Prof. Juan Pedro Andrés González.
