Alicia Fraile Chamizo was born in Madrid in 1973. She possesses the Certificate of Higher Education (HNC) in Chemistry “Analysis and Control”. For more than 15 years she has acquired experience as Laboratory Technician in different research Laboratories and in Industry.

She worked in the Institute of Optoelectronic Systems and Microtechnology (ISOM) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid for 12 years under the supervision of Professors Elias Muñoz and Enrique Calleja. She was involved in the fabrication of semiconductor-based devices (lithography, vacuum deposition, chemical and thermal treatments, soldering, packaging), as well as being responsible for the management of materials and clean room maintenance.

She also has international experience. She was hired by the group of Professor Martin Stutzmann at the Walter Schottky Institute in Munich for the fabrication of diamond-based devices.

In addition, she worked in the company Indra Systems in Madrid for 2 years. She was in charge of PCB laser cutting and quality control.

Nowadays she is working at the MSOC-Nanochemistry group at the University of Castilla- La Mancha under the supervision of Professor Ester Vázquez. Here she is involved in graphene fabrication protocols for the European Graphene Flagships project.
